The sunrise hike was unlike any hike I’ve done before. If you can get past the early wake up call, you will not regret spending the early morning hours climbing Mt. Batur. Our guide, Leon, was very attentive to our group and took breaks as we needed them during the climb. He was knowledgeable about the area and was also happy to answer any other general questions about Bali.

My wife and I booked the 4WD tour for the Mt Batur sunrise. We were picked up by Putu Kupit at exactly the time committed – 3 am from Seminyak. We arrived at the starting point and the 4WD jeeps arrived almost immediately. It’s 2 people per jeep. And please take warm clothing, jackets and ear muffs as it does get really chilly, especially due to the breeze during the drive.
